Bunch of Pigs in a Blanket
Recipe courtesy of Tiffani Thiessen
Ingredients:
- 3-7.5 ounce refrigerated biscuits
- 45-50 cocktail sausages
- 1 cup fontina cheese, shredded
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, leaves removed off stem
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Spray a 9 inch round cake pan with non stick spray.
In a medium mixing bowl, tear dough into small pieces. Then add cheese, parsley, onion powder and garlic powder. With your hands mix the all ingredients until incorporated as well as possible. Roll the dough out to a 12×16 rectangle then cut into approximately 1×2 inch rectangles (depending on the size of the cocktail sausage).
Place sausage on the dough and roll up. Lightly pinch the seam to seal on the bottom
Arrange vertically in greased pan and lightly cover with tin foil. Bake for 45-50 minutes if using a cake pan like pictured. If you’re using a more traditional loaf pan you it will cook between 20-30 minutes. Uncover pan for the last 10 minutes to allow the biscuits to become golden brown.

I love this new take on a classic! Where does the cheese go?
Yes so sorry. Late night editing. I fixed the recipe on the site. Thanks for letting me know.
What is the muffin tin for? When do you add the fontina cheese? I’m confused by this recipe.

Looks awesome! I’m confused though about what the muffin tin is for and where does the cheese get added?

What do you do with the rest of the ingredients listed for the pigs in a blanket??? I’m not seeing any directions for the cheese, oil, garlic and onion powder.
Yes so sorry. Late night editing. I fixed the recipe on the site. Thanks for letting me know.
Could you explain the recipe in more detail? You have ingredients such as the shredded fontina cheese and others that are needed but no part of the recipe states where they are used. Also, it says to use a muffin tin? It looks like you are using a round pizza pan?

This sounds delicious, but there seem to be a couple ingredients listed that are not part of the recipe. Do mothe olive oil, herbs and cheese just get combined and spread over the top of the hot dogs, once arranged in the pan?
Yes so sorry. Late night editing. I fixed the recipe on the site. Thanks for letting me know.
How/ where do you incorporate the cheese and powered garlic and onion?
Yes so sorry. Late night editing. I fixed the recipe on the site. Thanks for letting me know.
What happened to the rest of the ingredients— cheese, oil, parsley, garlic powder and onion powder? It’s missing from the recipe. Guessing the cheese goes in the dough and the oil is mixed with the powders and brushed on top?

You have fontina cheese in the ingredients but nowhere in the directions.

Love pigs in a blanket and these look amazing!
What do you do, though, with the fontina, olive oil, parsley, onion powder, and garlic powder from the recipe? I don’t see it included in the directions. Just want to be able to fully appreciate the recipe. Thank you!

Hi, Tiffani!
I’m so excited to try this! My kids will love the presentation! Who knew PIAB could be so beautiful! Question: ingredients list Fontina cheese but I don’t see it in the directions – do we add it with the sausages before we wrap them up in the dough? Thank you so much for sharing! I love all your work! ❤️

Did I miss where the fontina, parsley, onion and garlic powders go? I love your cookbook, but also found a mistake with a recipe in there and had to look it up online. You might need a recipe editor, I volunteer! Stay safe!

What do we do with these ingredients?:
1 cup fontina cheese, shredded
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, leaves removed off stem
½ teaspoon onion powder
½ teaspoon garlic powder
Also, noticed a small error: should be “if you’re using…”
Thank you!
