Let’s Picnic

Spring is in full force and in my opinion, there’s no better way to enjoy the outdoors than with a picnic. What can be better than throwing food in a basket, kicking off your shoes and simply sitting in the green grass, basking in what Mother Nature has given us? Nothing. That’s what. Relaxing, telling stories, drinking wine and eating cheese is a wonderful way to spend any day. So break out that wicker basket and call some of your favorite friends. Or, better yet, surprise your Mom (Mother’s Day is this Sunday).

A picnic is our favorite tradition for mother’s day, too! Tomorrow we’re mixing it up a little and will be doing a cookout on the bank of the Knik River here in AK. I’m so excited! (especially for the no cooking/cleaning!)

This is not only beautiful but peacefu. I have that identical (almost) old picnic basket, one I grew up with. The Handles are fragile, love the idea of putting ropes on in their place.

G’day from Australia!! My partner Troy and I love watching you on Food Network. Such a breath of fresh air and we have found ourselves laughing on many occasions!! We just finished having your tuna and avocado poke for dinner…OMG. Today was a pretty hot day (93F) and, as much as we love cooking, we weren’t in the mood to cook over a stove or BBQ tonight. When we saw you cook this, we said we had to try it and so glad we did (coupled with our favourite Sav Blanc from New Zealand – Villa Maria – we took a photo and would love to send you a photo).. Tiffini..this was sensational. So yummy. We like to entertain as well and we’ll no doubt serve this to our friends. Thank you for sharing this recipe. Love Karen and Troy xx
