Generations

They say you can pick your friends, but you can’t pick your family. If that’s the case I am one lucky lady.  The women in my family have truly shaped me into the person I am today. And for that I am blessed. My Grandmother, Tutu as I have called her since I could first talk, is 93 years young. Her words of wisdom and strength have carried me through my entire life and continue to do so today. My Mom, my beautiful Mom, has been my backbone and my rock. Her nurturing way with people and kind heart has taught me what love is truly about. And last, but not least, my daughter. She is the one who made me a mother. My first born and my one and only daughter. She has taught me unconditional love, patience, humility, empathy and what it means to be a mom.

Happy Mother’s Day to all you beautiful mothers. May your day be filled with so much love.

Beautiful family and a beautiful tribute. There is no way that woman is your grandma. She does not look 93. I would have guessed that was your mother and the other woman was your older sister.
